The year is slowly coming to an end, and soon it will be time to select the board for Ota ohjat ry for the next year. The board for 2026 (chairperson, treasurer, and 3-7 other members) will be chosen at the regular autumn meeting 10.12. Official invite coming later! The task of OHJA board (OHJAH) is to organize activities that reflect the interests of the members and promote horseback riding and horsemanship skills among the association’s members, as well as in general, with a particular focus on students. In order to ensure the continuity of the association’s operations, the current board would like to briefly introduce the board positions and encourage everyone to consider joining the board!
In some of the positions, it would be beneficial to know Finnish as, for example, our membership secretary has to access the portal of the Finnish Equestrian Federation that is only available in Finnish and currently the platforms that the treasurer uses are only in Finnish. However, as a board member there are still many things and projects that don’t have any language constraints!
Board member
The role of a board member in Ota Ohjat is to support and develop the activities of the association together with other board members. A board member participates in meetings, influences decision-making, and takes on responsibilities. As a member, you have the opportunity to participate in the tasks and projects that interest you the most. Responsibilities can include organizing and brainstorming events. The role also provides an easy way to get familiar with the administrative tasks of the club/student association. A member’s contribution is an important part of the collective effort, and participation is flexible according to each person’s own resources.
General information
The OHJA board offers the best opportunity to take the association’s activities to a new level, as well as to organize the things you want to do. Each year reflects its own board, so there are many opportunities! Being part of the board allows you to learn new skills, meet new people, and do things with a positive vibe in the world of horseback riding. OHJA’s board is also a great way to get to know how an association’s board operates! All positions will be introduced, and former board members are available throughout the year to offer support, encouragement, and (good or bad) ideas. In every board role you can implement your own vision, and no role is limited to just specific tasks.
